SHS strongly believes that in order to achieve the academic goals and set standards, both students and working staff should be provided with a highly optimistic environment. SHS also closely observes and assures the school climate to be safe, orderly and conductive to learning and working. The admission policy of SHS does not discriminate between cultures, races or religions; no bias or prejudice is sanctioned or practiced by the school. SHS advances respect for different international cultures and celebrates cultural diversity by the performing arts and special observances.
SHS places great value on the input and opinions of parents. There is an "open door" policy which allows parents to visit the school and discuss any problems, worries, or ideas relating to their child or the school in general. This input forms part of the school records as to how the educational program is perceived by parents and students.
The relationship between teachers and students is a close and amiable one providing a healthy atmosphere for learning. There is generally a positive relationship throughout the school.
